This just corroborates what I’ve been saying all along – CHANGE THE WAY U EAT! http://flashfree.wordpress.com/2010/06/23/wednesday-bubble-an-evolutionary-not-revolutionary-rx-for-hot-flashes/HRT and other drugs prescribed to women as they flounder through the trials and tribulations of menopause all have side effects. HRT and even The Pill are both Class 1 toxins according to the WHO but all things are relative and any drug should be taken in the full knowledge of your own health today and how this drug will really help and what long term side effects you can expect.

If you really want to avoid debilitating symptoms of menopause you should actually start understanding your menstrual health at a much earlier age, say, 40 at worst and 12/13 (yes, that’s puberty) for the best experience of what nature has provided. Now, don’t get me wrong, this isn’t airy fairy stuff it’s the real McCoy but women have been so oppressed, when it comes to their bodily functions, for so long and we are programmed to believe menstruation is dirty and apart from having babies, we’d be better off without it, especially when it comes to reaching that glass ceiling in the workplace. WRONG!

Understanding how your body functions is KEY to leading a happier and healthier life. I’ve just completed an interview for a podcast with Alexandra Pope on this very subject. I had such a great time talking to Alexandra and I think this is reflected in the outcome of the podcast. The way Alexandra describes the montly menstrual process is truly enlightening and much easier to understand that just saying that at this time of the month your oestrogen increases, then progesterone comes in and you feel good at one stage and rotten during another. Spring, summer, autumn, and winter is just easier to understand.

The podcast is now in the process of being transcribed, so watch this space!

Read the link, anyway, all these products have a place – different strokes for different folks (thanks for that one, Alexandra). And here’s Alexandra’s website: http://www.wildgenie.com and don’t forget, there are over 200 pages on menopause symptoms on my website: http://www.simplyhormones.com
